Nepal resumes flights to all domestic and selected international destinations
A cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to resume domestic flights, but airlines are allowed to board only 50 per cent of their passenger capacity. The Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal have been told to prepare a detailed schedule for the flights.
Nepal has resumed all domestic and selected international flights.
A cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to resume domestic flights, but airlines are allowed to board only 50 per cent of their passenger capacity. The Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal have been told to prepare a detailed schedule for the flights.
The ministry says the schedule will be ready by Wednesday evening.
While the flights were in operation to India, China, Qatar and Turkey only since June, some other destinations have been added by the cabinet. As per the Office of the Prime Minister, the following flights will be scheduled regularly:
- Kathmandu-Doha: Four flights a week
- Kathmandu-Istanbul: Two flights a week
- Kathmandu-Dubai: Four flights a week
- Kathmandu-Dammam: Two flights a week
- Kathmandu-Kuwait City: Two flights a week
- Kathmandu-Muscat: One flight a week
- Kathmandu-Kuala Lumpur: Four flights a week
- Kathmandu-Seoul: One flight a week
- Kathmandu-Tokyo: One flight a week
- Kathmandu-Chengdu: Two flights a week
- Kathmandu-Guangzhou: Two flights a week
Nepal had suspected all domestic and international except two with India every week since May owing to the surge in the Covid-19 cases.
